so I suppose this will be where I finally share these two's story.

so starting out, Scarlet and Azule; young Unicorn and pegasi twins; were very close as fillies, as they really only had each other. They did love their mother, Castille, but there was really only so much she could do for the girls and protecting them from their father. Ace was a spiteful and abusive Pegasus. Ace had a tendency to target his children, occasionally going after his wife as well, but his rage got worse and worse as the girls got older, as did the abuse they suffered from him. the girls made a promise to each other, that they would always stick together so that one day they could both make it out and get away from their father, but sadly, Azule didn't make it. Azule had a severe mental break after another round of torture from her father, and she hung herself. Scarlet was devasted upon finding her sister and made up in her mind that she would bring her back. roughly six months had gone by after Azule's death and Scarlet had been growing more and more hateful of her father and the death that he caused, but she had also started to resent her sister for leaving her behind, as now she was alone to take the hits. while she was being beat, she snapped. scarlet managed to kill her father; barely leaving anything to bury. she then left. she didn't care that she was leaving everything behind, not even her mother, because even though Castille was a victim herself, she had let it happen in Scarlets eyes. Scarlet began to study, she wanted to learn proper magic; she wanted to eventually be able to bring her sister back. she knew that dark magic had been outlawed, but she didn't care, she was going to bring Azule back, even if she was still angry with her. Scarlet went through schooling for about four years, leaving once she knew she was ready. she began practicing dark magic and spells that most ponies wouldn't be able to pull off, but her anger and determination pushed her forward. after about two years of practicing dark and outlawed magic, she was able to give herself wings, after pulling this spell off she also gained her mark, after this, she knew it was time. after Azule died she was never buried or cremated, in fact, because Scarlet was the first to find Azule, she had stored her corpse away to preserve it, and has brought it with her to her current home. when Azule died her mother and father had thought that she had run away and something happened to her, and that's why they never found her. it took Scarlet another two years before she was able to successfully revive her sister, and once she did Azule gained her cutie mark, having her life tied to her suicide. this caused an argument, once Azule realized who she was and what was happening, she began to sob, she was happy to see her sister but why? why would she do this? Scarlet waited all this time to talk to her sister again, only to be met with a crying mess on the floor in front of her, Scarlet saw Azule as ungrateful for what she had done for her, and this along with the broken promise from when they were fillies made her resent Azule even more. so, one year has passed since Azule was revived, and her and her sister have learned to live with each other, Although Scarlet still has anger in her heart, she is able to tolerate Azule, while Azule only wants to be forgiven by her sister, but she can't seem to get Scarlet to listen to her.

so, side note, these are characters I made when I was around 9 years old. I'm almost 20 now and I still love these two, while this story is still roughly the same as when I was little it is very very different from what it was, and this is a pretty rough version of my idea for this.

side side note, Ace stormcloud, their father, is a flight instructor for the wonderbolt academy, he is a very strict man, the type of person to get angry if you breathe wrong.
and Castille. their mother, is a schoolteacher. she is a very timid but beautiful unicorn, she loves her children but she is no match against her husband, and while she always tried her best to steer his attention away from her kids, she was never very successful in doing so.
