> DM: Well, he's not much of an artful dodger, so he's going to block it with a shield of his stolen magic. He's barely able to keep himself safe as the beam washes over him. But it still pushes him back a rather massive distance and forces him to exert a lot of effort. With the two of you trading explosive arcane blasts, the sky has turned a dark, fiery orange from all the ash, smoke, and debris. The beam you just cast has left a long scar on the land.
> Twilight Sparkle: We need to stop, Tirek! What's the point of ruling over a land in ruins?
> Tirek: Oh, you misunderstand, Twilight. I will not be content to rule from a cozy palace like Celestia. When I finally have your magic, I will spend the rest of time playing with this realm like so much clay. Can't you feel it, Princess, with all that alicorn fury? The rush of power and destruction?!
