Designed for my Fanfiction Fallout Equestria: Exiles to be the eventual main weapon of the main character, White Arc.
Pony Tonfas are essentially iron bars that are weighted to be very heavy and attached to power armor so that the power armor does the heavy lifting. Created by the Night Guard for Anti-Zebra melee units, pony Tonfas (also known as T-Batons) saw very little use in the actual war due to their late development. A secret probject that Luna's Night Guard assassins worked on, research was completed in annex southern lands of Equestria very near the last days of Equestria. Designed to allow Night Guard to be dropped from above paratrooper style and engage in destroying any heavy fortifsctions while being deadly at 360 of range, some schematics were drawn up to equip tails with magical energy weapons to allow for exceptional destruction at both close and medium range (gun parts not yet featured)
The T baton comes in sets of 5, with 4 heavier T batons equipped on the hooves that allow for a flicking of the pony wrist to extend the baton forward, allowing for greater reach than the unarmed zebra specialists. Protected within the power armor, these pony T Baton units sacrificed speed for power and defense, aplowing them to force zebra units into the open for their allies to pick apsrt at range, while staying safe themselves. The fifth T Baton can be attached on the helmet, which can be removed by activating a feature within the power armor and allows it to be used as a hooking mechenism.
Armored and using bat ponies natural speed, they were able to not sacrifice too much agility and more than make up for the loss in terms of greater strength, devestating blows, and all direction mayhem. Although it is unknown in Night Guard chronicles if this technology was ever shared with the ministries, it is known that most of their suits were never deployed, and that development was limited due to the late stage completion of the unique power armor equipment needed to fully utalize the tonfas.
Some T Baton designs in southern Equestria made of wood, reclaimed metals, and lighter forms are known to be prevalent in areas known formerly as Silverfield (just south of Equestria before the badlands) and in similar areas, but they do not make use of the power armor tdchnology, and their effect is limited to peacekeeping and as a backup melee weapon, rather than being able to take full advantage of the actual use for such weapons.
