During his entrance exam at Celestia’s school, he managed to raise the sun… at four in the morning! Celestia was woken up by her sister, panicking thinking that there was something dreadfully wrong with the sun!

After retaking control of the sun, she assured the trembling colt that he hadn’t done anything wrong. It was on that morning where she took him as her new personal student, an honour that Twilight had enjoyed. Like Twilight before him, this was the day he earned his cutie mark. Exciting whinnying ensued.

Soon after taking Starfire underneath her wing, Celestia’s first important lessons were to help train Starfire in is ability to raise and lower the sun. Early on, he struggled to maintain precision and control. She observed his progress and help guide him along.

It took a few years before Starfire was trained enough to perform the feat without assistance. It was only the beginning of his magical education but Celestia’s kind, nurturing, motherly nature was never lost on him.
