> So apparently we agreed with staff on EQD and started an alumni group after NATG. It was also said that there will be weekly prompts that can be completed at a more relaxed pace rather than daily prompts as seen in the NATG marathon. The prompt for this week is to draw a pony finding a new home or rising from the ashes. As I promised previously, I would be trying out other art styles for upcoming NATG artworks and my usual drawings, and this time I decided to use the minimal vector graphics style I did last time. It looks nice and I could easily adjust the anatomy by modifying different nodes. However, there are gonna be compromises when transitioning to a more simplistic style. As you can see, it becomes harder for me to add details on her mane and shading on her body, so I have to think of an alternative that is capable of resembling these details as much as possible. I managed to come up with an abstraction method, in which I only add details to a certain part of her mane and keep the rest of them simple. As for the lighting, I tried to introduce the majority of the lighting techniques used in my NATG drawings. It was a bit more difficult to mimic the style as I was no longer using brushes anymore, but I tried my best and this is what I could come up with. I also added my drawing for the graduation prompt to emphasize the connection between these two pieces of artwork. It looks fantastic considering this is my first NATG submission in a different style and I'm still trying to improve the aesthetic as much as I can!
