Description:

\Dang, I just realised that I drew Grandpa Gruff's good eye on the wrong side. Oh well. XD\

So, after seeing outfits of Dark Pinky, Dark/ Future Brain, DC, and Star Wars, I was inspired to draw this little piece. The background was a pain, but I'm proud of the result! In these outfits, I like to call them G-14303 (Gallus) and GG-687 (Grandpa Gruff) (14 and 68 = the Griffons' respective ages / 303 and 7 = numbers respectively representing anger and serenity, representing some personality traits and the Yin-Yang in the relationship of/ between the two Griffons), but they're still called by their actual names regardless of their spaceship ones.

So, the concept here could be anything; is it an AU where Equestrians are in outer space? Are the two Griffons simply telling a story to the cubs? Is it possible that they share a common interest in dressing up and wearing "weird" outfits? That, viewers, I leave up to you! :) Though, despite the designs being inspired by villainous attires, I personally don't see them having any reason to be evil. The closest "villainous things" I can see them do is (at best) petty crimes that usually involve property damage and (maybe) robbery more than violence with no intention of hurting others. I can also see them choosing unoccupied areas to cause mayhem because of being uncomfortable with the idea of actually killing anycreature. Also, I don't know how many people will get this, but the title is a play of the phrase "villain of the piece", which is a slightly humorous way to say that somebody is seen by some people as the cause of all the trouble in a particular situation, which in my opinion works perfectly for these two.

I've also changed their appearance a little. Grandpa Gruff's outfit is based on those of mastermind supervillains. He wears a very prominent, collarless, long cape, slightly ripped at the edges and with spikes on the shoulder pads. I headcanon that, despite the one on his left eye, Gruff has more scars that are hidden by his fur, which you can see here. Though his blind eye is visible, part of the left side of his head and nape are covered/ somewhat-replaced by robot parts, possibly due to major injuries (or because Gallus convinced him that it looked cool). Gallus wears a typical cape of his own that resembles his grandpa's, with a few minor changes, such as having a collar and lacking spikes (no way is Gruff letting his grandson wear those dangerous robotic-puckwudgie-like things, especially this close to his face). It is also a bit ripped at the edges, though it is mostly a straight line. He also wears a metal accessory near the edge of his tail and his bangs are messy. Hope you like it!
