Gem is still Spike and Gabby's daughter, and I still love Spabby as a pairing, buuuuut I cooked up this cute couple and couldn't resist making them canon to my next gen.

Spike and Gabby dated and had their precious lil oopsie baby Gem, but not long after her hatching they realised their live goals simply didn't align and they didn't want to be holding the other back. Spike wanted to settle down and have a family, and Gabby wanted to travel the world and see everything it had to offer. They broke up on good terms and Gabby set off on her adventures, leaving Spike to raise Gem but still sending cards and making visits when she could. This dynamic worked out well for them, and still does!

Even if it worked though, the first few months after the split were still rough.
