One aspect of bondage play that is often overlooked in art, stories, and video is the element of trust, something that can only be built over time. When you surrender to your partner and let them play with your body, you are literally entrusting your life to them, as you can't free yourself in an emergency or other life-threatening situation if you're mummified, locked in a straitjacket, or otherwise restrained. Now imagine the amount of trust needed to be willingly restrained and held by a being so big that they can hold you in the palm of their hand. Killing you would be easy, as would physically or emotionally abusing you. Yet, when that trust is present, being held by a being who loves you would be one of the most extraordinary experiences anyone could ever experience. A shame we, as humans, will never get to find out what it's really like.
