Even as a child, Minty already developed an obsession with sound, whether musical or lingual. She feels deeply drawn to Horspaña, the land of her ancestors, and always hoped to visit one day in the future.
When she got seven years old, she became friends with a street musician, who took her in as a mentor and introduced her to folklore. Once she joined him on a folklore festival, all her talents got together and she received her cutie mark.

After a life of restless travel, she eventually ended up in Canterlot, where she now works part-time as a mail-pony. Here, she also met her recent girlfriend, Sunstar.

Minty is a pony that lives for her passions. When she's playing her music or learning some language, her usually calm and melancholic demeanor disappears and she glees with fire. Of course, that has its problems, too.
She's rather perfectionistic with her work, since she wants other ponies to glow with the exact same fire as she does. That sometimes make it hard for her to find a position where everyone's happy.

That's also why she appreciates her current girlfriend Sunstar so much, who has no qualms of keeping her in check and making herself the appreciant of Minty's restlessness.
