Description:
My Little Pony: The New Generation came out today and I actually thought it was pretty good. Even though a lot of the new characters do seem to reuse archetypes used in MLP:FiM I believe they make them feel unique enough. They are also a mostly likable and charming group. Sunny, Izzy, Hitch, Pipp, Zipp I do like a good amount. I am mixed on Sprout though. He was kind of funny at times, but overall I don't think I really cared for him. The animation was probably the best part of this movie. It has an appealing and colorful art style, but the animation quality itself was just really good too. The songs were pretty good as well. As for the jokes in the movie I didn't laugh very much to be honest, but I did find quite a few of the jokes at least charming and fun. There were also quite a few that I just found kind of awkward though. I mean it seems to have adopted the style of humor most theatrical animated movies have these days which I am mixed on in general. The story was very simple. The roadtrip across Equestria was interesting because I was curious about what happened to this world after all of this time. It is a story that has been in plenty of different animated films before including the 2017 MLP movie so you have probably seen this a fair amount of times before. Speaking of the 2017 MLP movie I don't think this is as good as that and I am not sure if this will ever live up to the quality of MLP:FiM to me, but I am very biased towards that series so don't take that comparison too seriously. Overall I am interested to check out the show that this was made to advertise whenever it comes out.
