In all seriousness, I hate how modern games just copy whatever is popular so blatantly.
Even Doom, like OG Doomguy was actually quite interesting if not a bit raw for the time. Gruff green military chestplate barely containing his toned ABS and arms/fists of steel and just a helmet, but you could still see his face in the HUD. Nope, too much for a modern audience. Haaaas to be blank and empty for that self-insertion. Boring, really. Not even Doom 3 was that soulless.
