The continuation of 'One Day I Will Fly'.

This was it. This was the day. Scootaloo tensed herself, knowing that this time, if she failed, there would be no turning around and heading home — and besides, if she failed this time, it wouldn't be worth heading home anyway. She breathed in, and then in a sudden burst of energy, sprinted forward, urging herself into a gallop. She shut her eyes tightly, and flapped her wings experimentally as she ran. She was off the ground… then back on it; off and on, off and on, although her time in the air was getting longer and longer, Scootaloo was sure of it.

When she jumped and no longer felt the ground beneath her, she knew she had gone over the edge of the cliff. The wind tore at her mane like dozens of invisible hands, and buffeted her in the face; she fiercely flapped her wings, begging them to work for her. Her muscles ached from the effort.

Gradually, the wind lessened, and the noise wasn't so loud. Scootaloo opened her eyes slowly, one at a time; she then laughed as she saw the first wisps of cloud drifting beneath her. She was flying.
