Summary: Terramar, Silverstream, and Sky Beak visit Jamestown Reservoir, a lake in Jamestown, North Dakota, where they are informed that fishes below the water at the lake are acting strange and they all must solve this mystery once and for all. Gabby, the Griffon also helps out.
Sky Beak has arrived in Jamestown, North Dakota, along with his children, Silverstream and Terramar, where a lake is nearby.
"What a good view from above." Sky Beak said, enjoying the nature's view with his left claw raised up and placing it above the head. "Don't you both love the nature hippogriffs enjoy all the time?" He asked Silverstream and Terramar, who also seem interested in nature.
"Yes, father." Silverstream replied, enjoying the nature along with her father, looking at the clear blue sky above her. "Everything's so bright and light out today."
"I'm telling you, with us three together, this sounds like a perfect timing we have a vacation for the first time in a while." Terramar said, happy that visiting Jamestown, North Dakota is like dream come true for him, his sister, and his father.
"Why, yes, Terramar. We could help with the humans and nature itself." Sky Beak said. knowing how helpful he and his children can be with the humans, like protecting the nature and help them with any problems they need. "Hippogriffs really make can make a huge difference in this world."
Suddenly, a voice called from behind shouting, "Terramar!", which made Terramar wondering who could have said his name. However, Terramar turned around and realized it was Gabby, the Griffon.
Terramar and Gabby hugged each other, knowing how long it has been since the last time they have saw each other in Ponyville.
"I never thought I'd get a chance to see you again!" Terramar said, shaking his claw with Gabby, greeting each other for the first time in a while.
"You two know each other?" Silverstream asked her brother, as she never saw Gabby before.
Gabby started her sentence, saying, "Yeah! Terramar told me about how the Cutie Mark Crusaders have helped out with every creature and taught us lessons about friendships, leadership, and more. They even helped me with a situation I had once."
"Why it's a pleasure knowing you!" Silverstream said with excited, as she also shook her claw with Gabby. "Dad, this is Gabby, the Griffon!"
Sky Beak also looked forward into seeing Gabby, the Griffon despite himself not knowing much about griffons. "The name's Sky Beak, and I'm Silverstream and Terramar's father, and we come from Mount Aris!"
"Ooh, I've heard about that place." Gabby said, as she believes she has heard about the place some time ago. "Isn't that where the hippogriffs and seaponies live?" She asked Sky Beak.
"Yes, and you can even see the tropical water we have." Sky Beak told Gabby, as she would be so surprised seeing the other hippogriffs who live at Mount Aris.
However, while the group continued talking about Mount Aris, a voice called out from down below, shouting, "HELP!"
"What was that? And where did that screaming come from?" Terramar wondered, looking confused where the shouting was from. "I'm hearing it all the way from this area, and it is kinda strange I would ever be hearing a sound for scream."
"I'm afraid we have no choice but go see what this is about." Sky Beak said, as he ordered his children and Gabby to come along with him.
When Gabby and the griffons came down, they saw a young boy dressed in a farmer outfit, and had a blue hat on his head. He was feeling nervous about something that has been happening in the lake lately.
"You called?" Gabby asked the young boy, as she and the others want to know what the situation was.
"The fishes in the lake you see right behind us have been acting very strange since last night, and since you all have arrived, I need you all to help resolve this problem so I can be able to go fishing at this lake again." The boy told the group, as he knows that they can count on him and accomplish this.
"Wait, you'd be fishing at this lake?" Silverstream asked the young boy following what he has just said about visiting the lake.
The young boy nodded and replied, "Of course. This is where I be everyday, catching fish for my family all the time."
"And where are they?" Sky Beak asked the young boy, curious where the young boy's family lives.
"My family lives in Jamestown, are they live in my house that's only fifteen minutes away from this lake." The young boy told Sky Beak, as the young boy's house wasn't so far away from the lake where he visits everyday. "When I catch each fish, we cook them up for dinner during sunset or during the night."
"Here's what you can do. Go back with your family and we will call you when this is solved." Terramar told the young boy which would be the only thing best thing to do right now.
"Yes, as you say." The young boy responded, as he took his fishing rod and bucket with him and returned to his house until Silverstream, Terramar, Sky Beak and Gabby could get this situation under control.
With three hippogriffs and one griffon doing the job, they all must decide who should stay and who should go under water.
"Listen up! Silverstream and Terramar, you both will go underwater and catch those fishes that have been behaving weird." Sky Beak told his children. "Me and Gabby are gonna stay and help catch the fishes you collect. Make sure you don't lose any."
"Right, father!" Silverstream and Terramar responded, saluting that they can do this job and succeed.
"Are you sure this plan is gonna work?" Gabby asked Sky Beak, as she wasn't feeling the same way as him about the way his plan would work. "Shouldn't I go down there and help Silverstream and Terramar with the current assignment?"
Sky Beak didn't respond, as he was confident this plan he has made will work out fine.
Meanwhile, Silverstream and Terramar have transformed into seaponies, knowing that the duty they have is same: Capture as much fishes as possible and return them to Sky Beak and Gabby.
"Brother, we gotta find those fishes and capture them before they can escape." Silverstream reminded her brother, as they know that they must succeed in the mission they are in.
"I understand, Silverstream." Terramar said, as he eventually took the other direction in a way he will find the strange fishes behaving in the water and Silverstream took left, therefore they are splitting up for this mission.
"I didn't expect him going the other way." Silverstream said before she continued swimming in her own path.
In Terramar's path, where he took right, he was making sure that the fishes would nearby and he can capture them just at the right timing. "Okay, come out, come out, fishy!" Terramar called out for the fishes, waiting for them to make an appearance.
Suddenly, the fishes popped out, but are swimming at fast speed, with Terramar looking puzzled at this. "How are they…?" He asked before he pushing himself, knowing he can't be a failure on this mission.
"I better catch them!" Terramar said, letting the bravery inside kick in, and chased after the fishes going at full speed.
Terramar swims as fast as possible and keep up the fishes, and although he was breathing a bit hard on himself, he couldn't waste any time. "Push yourself, Terramar… Push yourself!" He said, swimming faster and stay on track.
Luckily enough, Terramar caught about three fishes in him, and swam back up in time so he can show Sky Beak and Gabby how much he has collected.
"Dad!" Terramar called out for Sky Beak, carrying the fishes he has with him, and placed them on the ground.
"Is this all you could find, son?" Sky Beak asked Terramar, wondering where the other fishes are.
"I'm afraid it weren't that much fishes around when I was in the water." Terramar told his father, as he found them quicker compared with Silverstream, who was still searching for the fishes underwater.
"I wonder where Silverstream is." Gabby said, still not seeing Silverstream making her way back yet.
Back with Silverstream, she was still looking for the fishes, but still didn't found any yet. "Come on, where are they?" She asked, looking a bit frustrated that she hasn't caught a single fish in her.
Silverstream turned around and realized that the fishes are coming from behind her, and ducked briefly, then started swimming after them.
"Come on, move yourself!" Silverstream said, looking determined, swimming as fast as possible while keeping her speed with fishes who have been behaving strange. "I must hurry up and grab before any can get away."
Silverstream tried to catch one fish, but just as she was about to grab the fish, another fish from behind smacked her with the tail, making her become unstable.
"Ow!" Silverstream yelled, as the fish behind her hit her on the back of her head.
Nevertheless, Silverstream still kept swimming, knowing what her duty is. "Come on, there's no time for waste!" She kept on going with all the speed she had.
Silverstream caught all seven fishes at once in the end and she quickly swims back up and show the others the remaining fishes that she caught in the water, knowing that it should be the end.
"Dad, I caught the rest!" Silverstream told Sky Beak, as she shows him all the fishes she has found in the water. "It wasn't that easy, but I still got them all…"
"All right, more fishes going in the bucket." Sky Beak said with excitement, giving out his screeching noise while putting the remaining the fishes into the bucket that Gabby is holding.
"They are safe in this bucket for now." Terramar told the group, as they all succeeded in the mission capturing all the fishes in the water that have been acting strange the other day. "The next we can do right now, is find the young fishing boy so we can tell him what we have accomplished, just like how we promised him from earlier."
The hippogriffs, along with Gabby, the Griffon, walked away from the lake and carried the fishes inside the bucket all the way to the young boy's house in Jamestown.
At the young boy's house, he was reading a book about a family living inside a little house. His parents are currently reading something else. They are more likely reading a book involving the usual fairy tale where a prince saves a princess from the dragon. However, they stopped reading when they heard a knock on the door.
"I will get the door." The young boy's father said, as he got up from the couch and head towards the door. When he opened it, he realized that Silverstream, Terramar, Sky Beak and Gabby are at the door, much to his confusion.
"Who in the world are they?" The young boy's mother asked, as she didn't see any creatures like Gabby and the other three in her hometown.
"We are hippogriffs, and Gabby is a griffon." Sky Beak told the young boy's mother, giving a proper introduction on who they are. "I believe we have something that your son has been telling us about from earlier."
Gabby puts the bucket down on the table, and the young boy's parents came forward, knowing that the fishes are inside.
"Can you mind telling us about how this all started?" Gabby asked the young boy's parents, looking for the truth about why the fishes acted strange last night and today this morning.
"You see, it all happened around sunset yesterday." The young boy's mother began her explanation, telling the hippogriffs and Gabby, the Griffon about how the situation all started.
In the flashback, the young boy was fishing as usual, but he had fish food with him that he feeds them occasionally. "The other day, at sunset, we let our son feed the fish at the lake before returning home. And when we checked later that night, the fishes seemed fine. However, when we woke up earlier this morning, the fishes have been behaving strangely, and we were too hopeless to do anything." The young boy's father added in his narration.
"And that is how it all started." The young boy said, finishing the story.
"I see. So that must be the reason." Silverstream said, finally knowing the truth. "However, I think you shouldn't try feeding the fishes a lot. It can cause problems for some, so this is why we are gonna solve this."
"I appreciate the offer from you birds, but we can do this ourselves." The young boy's mother said in a kind voice as, although she thanks them for solving the case, she and husband could handle the situation without them.
"Okay, we will let you do it." Sky Beak said, as he, his children and Gabby walked out the house, and allow the young boy's family fixing the fishes alone.
With Silverstream and Terramar saving the day, the lake was finally at a safe zone now. If it weren't for them, things would have never been changed. Silverstream was excited, feeling like next time, she would bring Terramar on another journey, and maybe Gabby, too.
