I don't know about you, but for me My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was about Twilight and her friends. Their stories are really interesting and some of them are really touching (When I discovered the show 5 years ago, I was really depressed back then for personal reasons, so thanks to that show I've drastically changed for the better and I moved on). It has stories about the relationship between sisters, friends who don't get along with other friends, friends who try their best to get along eachother, little ponies who want to discover something about theirselves, pasts of our favourite characters, facing our own fears, etc. This kind of stories wasn't pretty common back then in shows or movies intended for all ages (back then we only had Pixar, Tangled and a few movies). This is the main reason why I really really like this show for years. Heck, I still have a folder full of 80 or 100 songs, remixes and original music based on the show.
The show wasn't about a character with a less than a minute backstory character who will receive a bigger role than the characters we love for years. The show wasn't about a character of two episodes and then comes back for a bigger role.
The moment where I heard the quote "The future's in your own hooves now", I accepted that this is not for me anymore. The show was slowly turning into "The adventures of Starlight & Trixie". I suspected something after No second Prances and the ending of season 6. I saw it coming, but I didn't believe it.
Then, I was reading the summary of the second episode, I saw some images and, again, it was about Starlight and Trixie.
I've been reading some stories about people who left videogames such as DOTA 2 or Call of Duty because these games don't benefit them anymore. I think I'll do the same thing and I'm not going to watch more episodes of this show and I'll focus on fanart, comics and nothing else. You could argue that people watch it for fun, but for me, to have fun with this show these days, I should accept many things that I don't like in the first place and I don't agree with. And these details don't benefit me. I only liked 4 episodes out of 26 in season 6. Take a guess with season 7.
I'm not affected or something like that, I don't hate the episode and I won't say if the episode was good or bad. I just don't care anymore.
