Now we return to my AU project that heavily involves deer, this character, Hazel, being the representative of her tribe chosen to lead a small group to Canterlot in order to speak with Celestia and Luna to formally integrate with wider Equestria.
Hazel, bless her heart, was frankly not suited for this task, as she was never properly trained before being sent out on her mission with her squad. However, despite all the hardships, she had the right deer with her to back her up, and finally complete their mission.
Now, two years later, she lives in Canterlot as the representative of the now united Deer tribes, along with her sister, Chestnut, who does the more intensive diplomatic work, with Hazel being more of a figurehead for her species. Since taking up residency in Canterlot, she has taken up a more ponylike manestyle in order to better fit in.
Deeply couched in her tribal faith, Hazel believes that her Goddess, Lady Arianwen is the figure known as Mother Nature herself, and that she still walks the quiet and undisturbed places of the world. It is her life's goal to meet her.
Generally, Hazel is a friendly, yet subtly commanding presence, but that authority does not come easily to her, and her decision-making skills are frankly awful, so in order to avoid being bogged down in indecision, she tends to rely heavily on the input of others.
Do not let this soft appearance fool you however, as despite her appearance, Hazel has proved time and time again that she is a ferocious warrior in combat, and fights in an absolute frenzy, with no regard to her own personal safety.
Her personal weapon, (not pictured,) is a large, very heavily enchanted obsidian axe, an ancient heirloom artefact of her tribe. Despite its primitive and gnarled appearance, it is still more than capable of going up against even the most recent iterations of Royal Guard armour. This weapon was named, with the typical dark and bleak humour of her tribe, as "Last Laugh."
