Marinia might be a gigantic depths-touched hippogriff filled with terrifying eldritch power (and offspring), but she's a total novice when it comes to the whole 'ethical use of magic' thing. Who better to keep her on the straight and narrow than Princess Twilight, one of the most accomplished magic users in the world? Despite Mari's odd nature and reclusive behavior, their connection is one of respectful friendship. It's best for everyone that way, really.

Twilight's brought a surprise gift to their latest meeting: an appropriately (enormously) upscaled cupcake, courtesy of a certain pink friend of hers. Mari mumbles self-conscious excuses, like how she hasn't done anything to deserve it, or that she's watching her sugar intake and doesn't want to put on more weight than she needs — but they both know that thing's getting devoured sometime in the next thirty seconds.
