Description:

Applebloom returns home after doing a bit of shopping in town.

I wanted to do another piece with old Applebloom and I just knew I had to do this as soon as I thought of it. When it comes to portraying familiar locations in G5, most of the time they are seen as being abandoned or rundown. I've done this myself, particularly with Cloudsdale and, on occasion, the Castle of Friendship (though I'm retooling that concept in this entry). But for this idea, I thought I'd do the opposite for a change. Because, as I see it, Ponyville has actually been thriving since the fall of Canterlot. Over decades, it has grown into a modern resort town known for it's picturesque hillsides and luxury hotels. But what it is most known for are the legends surrounding the Guardians of Harmony.

It is the town that the guardians themselves were said to call home and even where an epic battle between THE Twilight Sparkle and a fierce creature was said to take place. These stories and more attracted denizens from all over Equestria, and the town itself became famous for them. But this fame soon turned to profit as the citizens began to capitalize on what was essentially an important part of Equestria's history. And the one pony in town who didn't like this at all was Applebloom. Her late older sister was one of the guardians, and she didn't take to kind to the town profiting off of their legacy. Because of this, the old mare can barely stand to even lay an eye on Ponyville, let alone go into it for whatever reason. But what is she to do? She's just a bitter old mare, and the town hermit.

That's about it. I thought it'd be fun to modernize a familiar location this time.
