Grand Pear could hardly see through the hot tears in his eyes. His youngest daughter, his baby girl, had betrayed their entire family.
Cinnamon Pear wrapped her hooves around her husband in some desperate attempt to keep his temper contained. "Please! Please, stop, baby!"
"It's her destiny, papa!" Pear Butter fought back as she stood protectively over her sister. "You can't control what she's talented at!"
"FOUR GENERATIONS!" Grand Pear bellowed. "We are all PEARS! How in Equestria did you end up with oranges on your flank?! How did this happen?"
Pear Blossom, trembling under her sister, couldn't muster any words. Her father would never hit her, but his hoof was raised as if he was tempted to. It scared her big sister, too, but she did not back down.
"Papa, please…" Pear Butter whispered, doing her best to keep her tone controlled. "She's really good with-"
Grand Pear pointed his hoof towards the horizon and screamed, "I want you GONE! And I don't care where you go! Just… just…" He bit his lip as more tears rolled down his face. "Just go. And you'll leave your name here. You're no Pear."

Yes, more angst with the Apple and Pear families. I was randomly thinking about the relatives of the Apples and thought about Aunt Orange. The show writers kinda forgot about her, didn't they? She and her husband were only in one episode, after all.
But with how bigoted the Apples and Pears were later in the show, going so far as to abandon family members should they interact with one another, I could definitely see this happening. A member of the Pear family receiving a cutie mark that has nothing to do with her ancestry and getting shunned for it.
I see this as how Aunt Orange (or Orange Blossom), originally known as Pear Blossom, ended up in Manehattan instead of Ponyville. After the night she got her cutie mark, she was kicked out and ran away to the big city. Ironically, her talent with oranges led to her huge success there — she made her own special juices, candies, baked goods, you name it! She even wound up marrying a charming stallion who also had a penchant for the fun fruit.
In the end, she made it out okay. Of course, she hasn't been home since, but she kept in touch with her sister (hence how Applejack knew about her and went to go live with her for a while).
