Description:

Due to the seemingly positive reaction to this little au, I decided to actually broaden it a little bit. Some things have been changed such as instead of Equestria Ranch, it’s now called Canterlot Ranch. I also gave Sunshine a little gradient on her legs. But that isn’t important right now, let’s talk about the new filly on the scene.

1) Here is Moonlight, a counterpart to Luna.

Sunshine was a yearling when little Moonlight was born on Canterlot Ranch. The pair are half sisters, though you wouldn’t know that if Moonlight wasn’t always under her sister. Whereas Sunshine is a playful, friendly, horse who is amazing for beginner riders, Moonlight… isn’t. She is shy and skittish and if you don’t have a good grip on her around people, she will straight up disappear. This doesn’t stop as she grows up but while she isn’t good for riding, speed is her key.

2) For a while, Sunshine and Moonlight lived in harmony on Canterlot Ranch, guiding the other horses. However as time went on, Moonlight’s wild side became more and more prominent. Moonlight wouldn’t let anyone ride her and would even start becoming aggressive. The two sisters eventually began fighting regularly. The previous owners of the Ranch cared more about raking in profits than actually caring for their horses and so sold Moonlight off considering her more trouble than she was worth.

Moonlight was sold to a racer and soon began competing under the name Nightmare Moon. Moonlight was an excellent race horse but the condition her new owners were putting her in was downright cruel, only making her aggressive and depressed. Meanwhile Sunshine was more withdrawn and despondent. The pair were starting to miss each other.

3) Twilight time! A few years after Moonlight was sold, Twilight came across the lonesome mare, Sunshine. As much as Sunshine loved to play with the little sprite, Twilight could sense a sadness within. Not usually a helpful fairy, Twilight snuck into the office of the ranch to mess around with the files. It’s there she came across a purchase order for Moonlight. The ranch had been recently sold off to new owners, these ones a lot more focused on making sure their horses are actually cared for.

Twilight just gave the new owners a little nudge… and by a little nudge, I mean forging signatures. Canterlot Rancher’s were very surprised by this mare suddenly being shoved onto them but weren’t ones to back down from a challenge.

4) The ranchers wouldn’t have to worry too much. After Sunlight and Moonlight reunited, Moonlight seemed to mellow out quite a bit. Moonlight was deemed a nervous horse and a lot more care was put into her and making sure she was comfortable no matter what.

These are quite fun to do, if you want to see anyone else fire away
