Sunset Shimmer is happy to see her new friends. Once, she was Princess Celestia's fallen student who desired power more than anything. But after she was defeated by the Magic of Friendship, she came to realize she was wrong and wanted to be a better person. But after this former villain reformed, nobody would accept her as their friend. Nobody that is, except for the Rainbooms. Twilight Sparkle's human friends accepted her as their friend. Even though she felt like she didn't deserve it after all the horrible things she did to them and the student body as a whole, Sunset was grateful. And soon, she would finally have a chance to make things right when The Dazzlings took over the school, and despite Twilight's help, it would Sunset who would finally give the Rainbooms the strength they need to defeat the evil sirens. Sunset Shimmer came a long way and now she's one of the best characters in My Little Pony Equestria Girls.



My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks was released 10 years ago! And while it had a lot of great elements that made it the top favorite film in the EQG series, I think the best one is Sunset Shimmer's role, her ascension from villain to hero from there on out, and the huge impact it left on us all. I didn't make anything special for this occasion, but I decided to make another vector of Sunset, and from one of my favorite shots of her. I just love that smile she made. It reflects how she genuinely changed for the better and how she wanted to be given another chance despite her doubts. And she just looks even more beautiful than she was in the first film.

I think other artists made vectors of this shot before, but I couldn't resist making my own. For this, however, I changed her hair color to her current one. I mentioned in my first Sunset Shimmer vector that I would change her hair color in Rainbow Rocks to represent her redemption; the original color scheme would be reserved for vectors and fanart of her when she was evil. In the end, she's still the sweetest, most beautiful sight I've seen in EQG.
