Description:
”I can only imagine what I must of looked like in that moment, half my face covered in blood, unsure of what had even happened for a precious tenth of a second. Truth be told, I do not remember many details of the event, my brain far too busy processing my second taste of death to remember the horror of it. I do, however, recall that my eyes subtlety drifted upwards, away from the body of the griff as it limply fell forwards onto the ground. Logically, my unconscious brain was simply trying to break my gaze away from the bloody mess that was once my comrade, as to not damage itself further. But some small, infinitely small but powerful part of me, believes I looked up so as to watch his soul ascend from this Earth and into the promised halls of valor and plenty that all Griffons seek. Alas, perhaps because of my species or the lack of my faith, I saw nothing but the blue Aquiliean sky above me before I tumbled over the corpse that could of so easily been me. I know well it was not the fault of the brave Griffon that took the bullet meant for me.”
