A gryphoness hailing from the low-lands surrounding the mountain on which the gryphon capital sits, Kara always took a keen interest in the occasional potion brewing nomad zebras that would stop in her village for trade and to offer healing services. She spent countless nights at their fires, listening to their stories and fluttering around the witch doctors, gleaning what knowledge she could of healing. Her father was a proud warrior in the king's army, but when her village was raided by mercenary ponies and diamond dogs, he was mortally wounded while driving them back. She stayed at his side, tending to his wounds until the end. Her mother, stricken with grief, would fall to plague a year later, leaving the gryphoness alone and frustrated that she couldn't save either of them with her limited knowledge. The next time a zebra caravan arrived in her village, she pleaded to become an apprentice under their witch doctor. She spent the rest of her childhood and her teenage years on the road, learning the ways of the zebras. She earned traditional family jewelry from her master when she protected the caravan from a pack of timberwolves with a fireflask and her own gryophonian savagery. With time she started painting herself with stripes, and even found herself the adopted daughter of her teacher. When the time came that he had taught her all he knew, however, Kara set off into the world alone. She travels with a clinking of glass as she helps, heals, and learns the techniques of the world as a potion maker.
Kara is taller than most gryphons, and has immense chest fluff that she likes to bury stallion's faces in. She has a deep, confident voice, and enjoys making even the most confident stallions blush like a filly.
