“Sunny, dear,” Miss Fireswirl began, her voice gentle, “While your enthusiasm for history is commendable, presentations should be based on facts, not stories passed down from family members."
“But Miss Fireswirl! It's real!” Sunny cried.
Miss Fireswirl looked down her with a mix of sympathy and skepticism. “Sunny, I know your father is a well-respected historian, but we need to stick to the curriculum in class."
Sunny felt a flicker of anger in her chest. She knew her father's tales were true, but how could she convince her teacher and classmates?
Miss Fireswirl's eyes searched Sunny's, looking for understanding. "I know it's hard, but sometimes we have to separate our personal beliefs from what we learn in school. Now let's get back to class. The day is almost over."
