Sunny study sketch
Anyway, I've done some research and want to share some findings with you.
While studying another AI art, I noticed that many elements have a hard boundary between light and shadow. I decided that it would be good to draw this boundary at the sketch stage, such a small thing helps to define a volume that is easier to work with in the future.
I also tried to solve the problem of static colors by increasing the color jetter on the brush. This is not always convenient, but clip studio allows you to display some parameters on the quick access panel, which allows you to quickly turn this feature on and off.
I also decided on the sequence of drawing. Usually I do it like this: sketch — base color — basic shadows — deep shadows (like AO) — reflexes — subsurface diffusion — highlights. This is a well-established scheme that I have drawn more than one drawing with.
I also went back to mix brush, I managed to customize it in a rather interesting way, which allows you to make both clear borders and blur without changing the parameters.
