Hey everypony, it's about time I posted more Spyro themed crossover art and I figured I'd use one I actually commissioned last year but never got around to posting. I figure this is a good time for it, what with my New Year's Resolution to ditch the coomer lifestyle for good and be wholesome-trappy from now on.
This is part of a series I simply called: Dragon Training, which for now is just three parts…I've been entertaining the idea of adding more to the concept, if I do I'll give it a proper series tag and keep you guys updated. X3
Now: It's time for Spike to learn how to be a proper dragon, luckily for him he has the most radical buddy to help teach him! X3
Spyro is ready to walk his brother-from-another-egg-mother through the basics of dragon combat, so he can learn how to stomp gnorcs, rhinocs and any other bad guys that cause him trouble (probably timberwolves from the Everfree Forest, honestly) with style…skateboard practice will come a bit later I'm sure, once Spike is considered gnarly enough. >//w//<

After making a good first impression on Spyro with the fire breathing, it was time to move Spike onto learning the main powerhouse of a dragon's melee fighting style: the trusty Headbash Charge!
…and clearly, it needs a lot of improvement. Failing to replicate the boulder-smashing power of his instructor, poor Spike's gone and got himself right stuck in there. XP
It's a good thing that Spyro was thoughtful enough to donate Sparx to him for help with this one, a dragonfly's protective magic can easily absorb the damage of an ineffectual charge attack (or indeed, easily absorb any degree of non-fatal damage). Otherwise Spike might be nursing something far more serious then a bruised ego right now! <:P
Well, at least Spyro now knows where to focus his efforts in Spike's training…clearly his pony upbringing has left him a bit soft when it comes to fighting with horn and claw! Good thing they'll have plenty of time to work on it… X3
