Ask Movie Slate — Episode 254 — CLERKS
Boy this movie has a lot of dialogue.
It does capture the best part of working a retail job, that is not actually doing the job and just chatting with your colleagues, who may eventually become your friends. I won't lie, this movie is really engaging based on its own premise alone. While the two main characters are a bit of a blank slate, the dialogue feels like conversations I would have with my own friends, which is wonderful, and I give the movie all the credit in the world for that.
A truly indie classic that still feels timeless, that somehow captures the feel of working in the 90's and just working a dead end job in general. Check it out, it's great.
