This is what happens if your country gets invaded, and your family, including your parents — dies. It makes you an orphan. You grow a desire for revenge, and hate towards the aliens for the pony's perspective — Russians.

Scootaloo just killed a few Russian soldiers who tried to murder her, thinking she was just some weak filly. Unfortunately for them, they had underestimated their prey and suffered gruesome deaths, which Scootaloo seemed to enjoy.
