The fate of King Waverider is something that still haunts Queen Novo to this very day. When the Storm King invaded Mount Aris, he tried to use one of his dreaded Obsidian Orbs on Novo. Waverider pushed Novo out of the way and took the hit, his body agonizingly turning to stone. Helpless and immobile, the Storm King then smashed the hippogriff king to pieces with a hammer. And all while Novo watched, helpless and unable to aid the griff she loved most."
