Description:

Whether it’s records of long-forgotten hit lists against certain ponies-of-interest or larval-rearing guides, anything and everything that has ever occurred or happened in changeling history is stored within the cavernous vaults of the Skelksis Archives.
#
The clerks of the Skelksis Archives are typically of the dry and ornery type, but the cutting efficiency they provide in their work makes up for any unsavory personalities they may possess. Small talk and idle chatter is not of their forte; rather, the use of a magical neural network is used to telepathically communicate to other clerks and archivists for whom they work with.
#
A spectator entering these archives is greeted with a chilling silence quiet enough to hear one’s own heartbeat. Yet those with access to the neural network are met with a cacophony of shouting, bickering, and rhetoric. One must learn to single out these voices within the clamor in order to achieve a successful conversation with another being; a skill that almost all archive workers have mastered to some extent.
#
This is probably why they dislike traditional methods of speaking to clueless visitors who ask benign questions orally. Such an inefficient and antiquated form of intercourse to spend several seconds stringing sentences together when one can simply use their amygdala to convey their desires and intentions in a fraction of a second; albeit telepathically.
