Emerald's ears perk up at these words. Emerald asks how he could earn this secret, commenting that he already thought he had Joyride's trust.

"That kind of trust and this kind of trust are two very separate things… There are other reasons as well. Living as long as I have has it's disadvantages." Joyride says, looking out to sea again.

Emerald hops up to the rail and looks over it, down at the waves crashing against the ship as it sails. Emerald asks if she offered Sunshine the secret.

"I did. She didn't want it." Joyride says, not moving any thing other than her mouth.

Emerald and Joyride stand quiet for a few moments, and Emerald enjoys the wind and sunlight on his face. Emerald wonders why she would turn it down. For the colt personally, long life would certainly help him get back at his step parents. Emerald then turns to the unicorn and asks if she would get revenge on his step parents if she was in his horseshoes.

"Hmm… Good question." Joyride says with a chin rub, "I personally think revenge is useless when I could just go off and live life the way I wanted to instead. That's not to say that I would forgive them, and if the opportunity came up that I wouldn't screw them over, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it. I have better ways to spend my time."
