Emerald gives a grin at the sleeping Ruby, and then nudges her a few times, trying to get her to wake up. Her only reaction is sleepy grunts, and after a few more prods Emerald almost gets a face full of thrown comic book.

Emerald decides to go and try to sneak Pip out of the library, and quietly makes his way over to the church.

Emerald walks into the office behind the podium, and after making sure the coast is clear takes the holy book and puts it in his bag.

Emerald hears a whispered cry of happiness from the book before slipping it all the way in. He then hesitates.

He then wonders if maybe he should try to talk to Joyride about the whole thing. Maybe she'll help him get it out, or have a talk with Lord Sepulcher to convince him to let her free. He supposes he never did ask Lord Sepulcher to just release Pip either. She doesn't seem very happy here after all.
