Emerald doesn't have a clock or anything to tell time, but just by the sun he is guessing it's an hour or two before sundown. Emerald quickly writes off a letter to Sensoria apologizing for not being in Whitherwater at the moment and how he'll learn magic when he gets back.

Emerald then decides it's time they headed over to try to find Joyride's house. Emerald feels a little wary about walking through the compound again, so he walks along the wall until he spots the familiar garish orange dome house.

Emerald walks inside and is immediately greeted with a "Hey, lil' perv."

Emerald turns his head to respond but then spots two unfamiliar ponies sitting there. One is a pony wearing a sweater and carrying a large backpack, and she wears thick glasses over her beady eyes. The other is a female zebra wearing some sort of armory and a headband. Both are giving the two foals a staredown.

"Please tell me the two extra weren't these two children." The zebra says to Joyride.

"It's far too dangerous!" The other pony says to the unicorn.

Joyride simply waves her hoof and says, "it's fine, it's fine. Anyway, what's up? Why you back so early? Did Ruby cockblock you?"
