Waaay over-due free commission avatarjk137 won forever ago on my pony tumblr blog. Now… finally done!
And It was nice drawing his characters again. I've never drawn these two properly before, I just enjoy drawing his characters to see how well I can make the designs match his mental image all based on his descriptions. The dude's a good writer, making characters I enjoy to draw without having a starter ref to work with.
These two are Alias the Shapeshifter and Serene Grace the Warden. Both having parts in Red Velvet's history, being the ones hunting him down and who took him down in the past. Now he has escaped the maximum security prison it is their job to catch him once again. Two headstrong mares with specialized skills and great power and just as great stubbornness. Yet Red Velvet has already slipped out their hooves(claws) times before.
They must prepare for another showdown and not let him get away next time. For the sake of their own pride, really.
As said above, this was an enjoyment to work on because I always like to draw Avatar's OC's. And I was happy to learn I had managed to get these two just right as well. I then had fun with the lighting and magic effects just to see how that would turn out. The background is rather empty and uninspired but I'm sure the foreground makes up for that in plenty. So I'm really happy with how well this turned out.
