Let me tell you the sad story of Lemmiwinks, the Gerbil King.
Let me tell you the sad story of Jeffrey Dahmer. And then we'll talk about Armin Meiwes.
It really is the only reason not to tag something, if it's already implied by the other tags. Otherwise you can give a picture endless tags and overwhelm any system to organize them. For instance you could add the tag "female mare," but there are very few pictures of mares that are not female mares. Pictures tagged "human" and "hand" don't need to be tagged "human hand" because there are very few pictures of hands and humans that don't have human hands in them, and vice versa. The same is true for "vore" and "oral vore," so technically it's a redundant tag and mostly a waste of effort.
However if we're trying to help keep the tagging system from being overwhelmed, we should focus on tags that are the worst at narrowing down searches, like "swallow," vs "swallowing." It's also hard to say whether "oral vore" is bad at narrowing the search down, since I know in theory that the 16,432 images tagged "vore" would almost all be tagged "oral vore" but someone obviously hasn't gone through all 16,432 images looking for people eating uh, orally.
And that's really the root of it. Someone felt strongly enough about only searching for vore that's not the weird stuff, that they went through and tagged 1,055 images with "oral vore." If they want to keep up that effort, and can't just… y'know ignore the weird results only searching for "vore," and if it's not overwhelming the tagging system (it's obviously not) then there's no reason to forbid them from doing so. Tag searches are to help people find what they want, so if people want some silly tag that should be implied by the other tags, then it's a good tag.
I can still facepalm at how silly it is that we have to specify "No, no, you eat things with your mouth not your butt."
Vore is a larger category of placing a person inside of another. It's kind of just implied by the Vore tag that it involves the the mouth and stomach, because that's the "vanilla" variety. But I guess that because other types exist, distinguishing the oral variety with its own tag makes sense.
Thank you for sharing. See, the amazing thing about fetishes is that they help to paint a complete picture of person's true identity. A fetish is a person's natural defect — a mental block that prevents him/her from fulfiling their reproductive duties. A fetish cannot be faked or gotten rid of. In other words, if something inferior to an opposite sex turns you on — you are stuck with it. Probably forever.
Personally, I'm stuck with a theme of undergoing change. Change can be either physical (transformation), or mental (hypnosis and mind control). Many people seem to enjoy transgender transformations, in which male becomes a female, but it's not my thing. To me transformation has more to do with a humiliation aspect (like turning into an animal) rather than giving someone an advantage. Anthro transformations are not effective either, much like transformations that happen in an instant. The more detailed the process — the better.
Believe it or not, my interest in transformation speaks volumes about my personality. I could sit here hours pouring my soul out and nothing of it would come close to the bit of information you now have.
I don't need a therapist to admit this is bad — to desire someone being seen changing shape into something less of a human. This can be a building factor in my socially inept personality that lacks a feeling of dominance and self worth, to the point of lashing it all out on dehumanizing others, seeing them becoming less of themselves for my own amusement.
See, fetishes are crucial in understanding what drives people to such extraordinary things — like vore, ABDL, scat, inflation, dating women instead of ponies. My opinion is that humiliation plays a major part in that, though I can be wrong.

I think the overall trend making vore popular has something to do with the persistent commercial marketing, leading us to both be ashamed of eating too much, and to deny that we are ashamed. "Big is Beautiful" after all. Then there's the corporate world's brilliant plan to stop their workers from unionizing by systematically destroying all community support networks in existence, leaving many, many people isolated and vulnerable. That means an inevitable drift in people's behavior away from what would have been the social norm, if there was any society left.
Personally, I think I developed an interest in it slowly over time, as a result of many years without anyone to so much as cuddle with, and the accompanying depression causing me to stop caring about my own self preservation, as my life became more and more hopeless.
So… yes it is a serious social issue. Some people don't have any problems though, and just like vore.
This is a serious social issue. We need to study vore before it's too late for the human kind.
And nipple vore, and nose vore, and soul vore, and all those have specific tags, because they're rare. Oral vore is not rare.
I mean anyone's free to tag vore that actually involve eating people as "oral vore" but it just seems… sad that we have to be so piccayunish about it. What's next, the "vore vore" tag?
Because anal vore and penis vore exist. Which is why vore is cringe.
It's vore! Oral does not need to be specified! Why do we have to specify that we're eating someone with our mouths?!
I don't care
Fuck you it's good
How long has that… tag been a… thing…
