As you walked to the stream near the edge of the Everfree Forest, the little thing had curled up in your palm and, not even five minutes later, had fallen asleep. You remembered what she said about predators and wanting a safe place to sleep, and couldn't bring yourself to abandon her in the water unprotected as she slept. You didn't even have the heart to wake her after what she had gone through last night.

You leaned against a tree and slid down to sit in the shade, being careful not to jostle her from her sleep. You briefly considered dipping her in the water, but decided against it as she didn't seem to need to keep wet. Instead you let your cupped hands rest in your lap and looked out over the water, letting your mind wander and wondering how many fish you would see jump until she awakened.
