Newest member of the Lazy Company cast for the Roan RPG Project!
This one I've been considering for a long time, because it would be a real challenge for me. 'Cuz I seriously suck at drawing and designing machines, techs and any such things. But seeing automatons were an option in the Roan RPG book, I really wanted to give it a go. Especially since we want Lazy Company of Camp Palomino to fully representative of the creatures optional in the game. So I ended up putting much more thought into this one than the rest of the cast I helped put together. To a point where she's the first to get a proper coloured ref. I've had much fun discussing her personality and quirks with mh47e, aka Clear Skies the creator of Roan, to get my vision of her just right.
She's of the automaton category Æther-Tech. Different from Organo-Tech which starts as organic ponies who get augmented, Engel was created as a machine from scraps. But gained sentience and quite bit of personality while still brand new and learning about being a pony.
She's a basic and bare model, which can be upgraded and customized as pleased, but Engel sees that unnecessary and rather stay basic in her model appearance.
Although she loves to dress up, any piece of clothes left unguarded tends to end up worn by her or found around her charging station. As far she's concerned, she can make anything look good.
Her face is stuck the way it was molded, so her expression range is rather limited, but she usually manages to get across how she feels. Even if she has to ask somepony to draw eyebrows with a marker onto her face to emote fittingly for the situation. It washes off her surface easily anyway.
