She turns the doorknob and tugs a few more times in panic, and then remembers the key she found in the other room. Thankfully its the correct key, and she quickly ducks inside the room and closes the door behind her.
The mare turns around and puts her ear up to the door and listens hard.
The thumping and complaining of the monster continues, and after a minute or so it reaches the top, breathing heavily. After another moment he calls out, "Emilia?"
There is a dragging sort of thumping sound, a door opens, and then more movement.
There is a pause, and then the thing says, "Oh? You taking a nap?"
Silence.
"Well anyway, I'll leave this food here and- oh! What's this? That's some nice meat you have back there, mind if I use it?"
More silence. Then the movement continues. There is the sound of a shutting door, and the thumping returns to the stairs. Mulberry can hear the monster complain about being on the top floor again as it makes it's way down.
The mare breathes a sigh of relief, and then looks around.
She appears to be in a bedroom of some kind. There is a double bed, a dresser, a desk, and a shriveled looking potted plant. There is dust covering everything, and lot's of it suspended in the air. If she had to guess, no one has been here in a while.
