Luster knew these words quite well, her mother’s deafening screams took hold of her in her nightmares. The mistake of looking back and seeing her own mother’s neck be torn open, her body crushed under the jaws of the undead plagued her mind daily.
Her mother… Moondancer hadn’t stood a chance against the horde that swept through Canterlot. She was lucky though, she had Sunburst who happened to be visiting the night of the outbreak.
But what did it all matter right now? Her labored breathing and heart pounding in her ears as adrenaline kept her moving. The field was large and both her and Sunburst were exhausted, hungry and in need of shelter.
The sick ones, as Sunburst referee to them, never had to sleep… she almost wished she were like them. Besides the increased hunger and smelly bodies being one of them seemed tempting on really bad days.
She suddenly tripped, Sunburst standing over her as his horn lit up. Streams of hot blue coursed around them before forming a protective barrier. Luster couldn’t hear Sunbursts shouting, the ringing in her ears continued and black spots floated over her vision. She cowered in place, frozen, terrified, and cold.
Then just as one of the sick ones slammed against the shield the black took over, her body slipping into shock. —————- : )
This isn’t really main plot just some World Bits A series I’ll do to shine light on other parts of the world that don’t relate to the story
