Description of old lower res version:
I never came around to finish the colouring due to a list of issues which dragged down my motivation in doing art, yadda yadda.
Hopefully you'll enjoy this piece — even if uncoloured — and some day the coloured version may be completed too…

This is my second MLP piece and is quite a step compared to the Fluttershy drawing.
I took the first comic issue from the MLP FIM series as inspiration and reference.
You might recognise a bunch of elements from the actual comic — there is no tracing involved, though.

The original comic panel shows a zoom-in on how Applejack, Fluttershy and Spike are scanned by two changelings, one of them being a fake Derpy Hooves.
I expanded the view to include all characters which were involved in that scene.
This required me to do something about the scenery too, unfortunately the comic didn't provide many references for trees, grass and bushes — in short, vegetation.

I had to include Pinkie's hilarious, maniacal smile; she was the first character I drew followed by the changeling next to her.

Desaturated and white balanced with GIMP 2.8 to improve the quality of the scanned drawing.

This is the final state of the uncoloured pencil drawing. As stated below, the colouring never has been finished.

• Derpy Hooves is trapped and another changeling transformed into her. Poor thing hasn't much space in there.
• The second changeling and the transformed one are just like Applejack, Spike, and Fluttershy part of the original panel this artwork is inspired by.



> About This Project
> Back in 2016, I planned to make one picture to each official MLP:FiM comic issue. I actually made several scans during the making of the first drawing and never published them. The pencil drawing has been created over the course of 3 months and it was very frustrating to me. It took so long due to medical conditions (OCPD, MDD) which makes me strive for unattainable perfection while being low on motivation and energy. On top of that I'm a bloody beginner, not having much experience, and it takes a lot of effort to get to such a level without practice. I never came back to this project which was left in a halfway coloured state. The whole experience made me lose my motivation for making art almost completely.


> About The Comic
> The first issue of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic comics is the first part of a four-parter titled "The Return of Queen Chrysalis". In short, changelings either trapped the ponies or turned them into zombies. The plan of the main characters was to pretend being zombies and one specific panel showed Applejack, Spike and Fluttershy facing some changelings. I wanted to recreate that scene but zoomed out with a full line-up of the main characters.
