Oh, well that's true. But a plastic spork isn't made of the grid of grey stuff that heats up yo microwave pot pie. I… don't think I've ever encountered those melamine plastics either. But I do check for warning labels.

One reason not to put plastic in the microwave is that the plastic will be nonreactive, but the microwave can heat water into super hot steam, which melts/burns the plastic onto your food, and… yeah.

Point is anything cooked in that mare's microwave is going to smell like death and make anyone vomit who tries to eat it, so I guess it's a good weight loss strategy for her. But otherwise… please clean your microwave, anon….

not him, but some dielectrics absorb microwaves and heat up. silicon carbide is so good at this that they put it in certain formulations of epoxy to make them microwave-curable. certain melamine-based plastics break down and give off toxic goo in the microwave, also, and usually have a warning label molded into the bottom if it's a plate or bowl.

I'm sure that spork is plastic, right?

…right?

Putting plastic in the microwave is even more retarded than putting metal in it.
