That's exactly what people said about the recommendation to watch MLP before making a judgement of it. There simply is not the common ideas and language in the zeitgeist to easily articulate what you're getting. I pointed you to the /mlp/ archive. There were threads specifically dedicated to talking about this, and I know I read at least one effortpost articulating a lot about the structure and feelings that are described.

Just watch it. Watch it for the whole duration. Watch the one where Flawless Sparklemoon is introduced, if you need a place to start.



Do not just quit when you see a couple of things you don't like. Think of it like pacing in a book or in a game. The parts in it that are actively unpleasant allow for a bounce back. The whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. The click moment is worth it.

Watch Tamers. Watch a couple of the videos, and pay attention to it. Some of it is unpleasant, but there's a very sophisticated and specific kind of content that is there that is hard to articulate. If you want to get offended and have an excuse to dismiss something, then you're the problem with content becoming a rush to be as non-offensive and bland as possible.
