GET OUT OF MY HEAD, not 2 days ago I was JUST telling a friend about this, but 50 years seems more accurate. the elderly have no real concept of pre-war life. 40-50 years seems like ALONG time for food to still be around, same with the terrible houses. but what must be considered is the state of education and the sheer harshness of the Capital Wasteland. it's a constant struggle for survival still. clean water is obtainable but not without considerable effort (megaton has it, but there is literally only one guy who maintains it). most people are real stupid but that makes sense. rebuilding has not occurred for those reasons.

but 200 years?!?! it's quite absurd
